Anne, a widowed script supervisor still grieving her stuntman husband's death on a film set, and Jean-Louis, a widowed race car driver whose wife died by suicide after his near-fatal crash, meet by chance while visiting their children at the same boarding school. Drawn together by shared loss and quiet recognition, they begin a tentative romance shadowed by the memory of the spouses they can't quite let go of. Claude Lelouch's romance, shifting fluidly between color, black-and-white, and sepia, follows the couple's hesitant attempt to build something new out of parallel grief.
