An Italian merchant travels to Sweden on business and finds himself bewildered and increasingly entangled by the sexual openness of Swedish society, which clashes comically with his own conservative expectations. Alberto Sordi's fish-out-of-water performance carries the film's culture-clash comedy as his character's business trip spirals into one embarrassing misadventure after another. Gian Luigi Polidoro's satire plays the Italian visitor's discomfort for broad comic effect throughout.
