In the aftermath of Yugoslavia's 1968 student protests, three disillusioned young men and a woman named Jugoslava, inspired by Marxist texts, travel to remote villages and factories hoping to spark a genuine revolution among indifferent locals. Their idealism curdles into bitterness as their efforts fail and they're arrested, and upon release the men turn their rage on Jugoslava herself, murdering her as a witness to their failure. Želimir Žilnik's Yugoslav Black Wave film ends on a stark warning against half-measured revolution, framing the group's violence as the logical endpoint of ideology divorced from practice.
