Over three days, the film follows Jeanne Dielman, a widowed mother in Brussels, as she cooks, cleans, shops and looks after her teenage son, filmed in long, unbroken takes. She also sees a male client each afternoon to make ends meet, and as her rigid routine starts to slip, it ends in an act of violence.
